Our Mission

Mélange IMF is a global nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching lives and strengthening communities through meaningful, transformative experiences by blending education and music performance.

Our Vision

Mélange IMF aims to provide excellent educational and artistic experiences to people all over the world.

Our Story

For 25 years, pianist Jovanni-Rey V. de Pedro volunteered in church choirs, gave outreach performances to underserved areas, and performed benefit recitals for dozens of religious and charitable foundations, In 2018, he established Mélange IMF as a way to deepen his mission of service through music, and bring together like-minded people with a common goal: To change the world through music education and performance - one community at a time.

Jovanni was a Filipino-American pianist who traveled the world as a performer, speaker, teacher, and advocate for professional development and classical music education. He held piano performance degrees from the Vienna Conservatory of Music, Trinity College of Music in London, and a doctorate in piano performance and pedagogy from the University of Michigan. Jovanni’s most recent position was a professor of piano at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama where he was fortunate to mentor the next generation of artists and leaders. He and his wife, Jeremy, both enjoyed traveling and meeting people from various walks of life.

Mélange International Music Foundation, also known as Mélange IMF will continue its mission with the intent and vision of the Founder, the late Jovanni-Rey V. de Pedro. Its original Co-Founders, Jorena V. de Pedro and Jeremy Kay Dayrit, sister and wife of Jovanni-Rey, will ensure Mélange IMF will continue to support and create programs that are fulfilling to the organization, as well as honor the legacy of Jovanni-Rey.
